Techni specialise in the design and manufacture of cast compressor mount kits and drive solutions for the mobile transport industry. We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to join our team to oversee and coordinate day-to-day manufacturing activities across production, secondary operations, finishing, packaging, and documentation. Acting as a primary point of contact for Team Leaders, you’ll ensure the smooth flow of communication, materials, and processes on the shop floor, driving operational efficiency and supporting the achievement of departmental goals.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to join our team to oversee and coordinate day-to-day manufacturing activities across production, secondary operations, finishing, packaging, and documentation. Acting as a primary point of contact for Team Leaders, you’ll ensure the smooth flow of communication, materials, and processes on the shop floor, driving operational efficiency and supporting the achievement of departmental goals.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Responsibilities
  • Planning and scheduling work on the shop floor ensuring the schedule runs smoothly and on time, updating departments with changes.
  • Ensure all manufacturing employees have the material, tools, and safety equipment to be able to carry out their work safely and efficiently
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to manufacturing production including but not exclusively:
  • Issuing and receipting of stock to works orders
  • Printing and distributing job cards
  • Creating a week job sheet
  • Creating sub-contracting paper work
  • Work with the Supply Chain team to give ETAs for stock and customer orders
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve with other department team members, department managers and engineers to resolve any issues.
  • Organising stock counts
  • Review hourly, daily and weekly production rates against schedule; providing updates to the supply chain team
  • To oversee the of the manufacturing shop floor with the assistance of the Team Leaders, ensuring production runs to its full potential
  • Ensure all shop floor staff are following appropriate safety practices to prevent accidents to self or others
  • Ensuring efficiency of shop floor to keep production levels high
  • Work with team members to breed a positive and constructive attitude to create a good working environment
  • Day to Day Man Management of including but not exclusively, performance management, return to works, reviews and appraisals.
  • Assist with recruitment and employee life cycle
  • Assist with quality non-conformance investigations and product dispositions.
  • Contributing to the ideas, as well as the implementation of operational improvements including cost saving initiatives
  • Develop and maintain reports as required by the business
  • Support Manufacturing Continuous Improvement (CIPs)
  • Support maintenance of training materials and skills matrix’s
  • Assist in development of processes, procedures, and practices
  • Providing accurate data for updating internal systems including Progress Plus
  • Assist the day to day running shop floor alongside the Team Leaders
  • Drives manufacturing KPIs
  • Assisting in generating part costings and run times
  • Highlight any incorrect date on Work Order Route Cards
  • Attend meetings, contributing in a constructive and positive manner
  • Ensuring the machine shop floor is always clear and tidy
