Job title: Manufacturing Operations Team Leader
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £46,000+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for the work you produce, taking the appropriate actions and decisions in order to deliver all your targets to the expected standards and tolerances in a safe and quality focused manner, adhering to relevant instructions, drawings and other specifications
  • Planning and coordination of the team to meet requirements; Provide supporting information (including KPI’s) to Senior Management for determining the team resourcing requirements, and to maintain the correct resource levels
  • Leading, advising and coaching the team as part of daily responsibilities, providing technical advice and guidance as well as support on development training, identifying high potential talent within the team
  • Perform within your scope of approvals and responsibilities, covering the full lifecycle of the build programme
  • Create a learning, development, and improvement environment where a culture of continuous Learning and change thrive; Liaise with management and leadership teams in order to improve safety, quality, cost and delivery by participation in continuous improvement projects
  • Responsible for the use and care of tools, consumables, and equipment, including user checks to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Problem solves using various techniques, dealing promptly and effectively with problems within your control and reporting those that cannot be solved in a timely manner to the appropriate person

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment with supervisory or leadership experience
  • Process knowledge – strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment and quality control systems
  • Familiarity with safety guidelines – good manufacturing practices and relevant quality standards
  • Excellent organisational and time management, to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, keen focus on accuracy and attention to detail to ensure standards are maintained
  • Apprenticeship in an industrial trade is desirable (i.e. welding or machining)

    The Manufacturing Operations team:
    As a Manufacturing Operations Team Leader you will liaise with and manage stakeholders, including internal and external customers as appropriate. As well as this, you will be responsible for driving engagement and collaboration across teams and the wider business through the awareness and sharing of current industry best practice.
