Description We’re looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing and drafting new door products and components. You’ll bring technical expertise, creativity, and precision to ensure our designs are functional, manufacturable, and visually appealing. If you enjoy transforming ideas into detailed drawings and collaborating across teams, this is the role for you. Responsibilities Assist in designing door products and entry systems, in accordance with customer specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing guidelines. Prepare detailed technical drawings, 2D schematics, and 3D assembly models using CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor). Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to refine designs and ensure manufacturability. Review product designs for accuracy, functionality, and cost-effectiveness, making necessary adjustments. Support the creation of prototypes, product testing, and iterations based on feedback. Prepare product documentation, including assembly drawings, exploded views, bill of materials, and manufacturing specifications for production. Maintain organized records of design changes, revisions, and approvals. Coordinate with the production team to ensure design compatibility with manufacturing processes. Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional team meetings. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and design innovations relevant to door manufacturing. Requirements Skills that will ensure your success: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial or mechanical engineering, or Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 3 years of professional related work experience. Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD or CAM software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar. Ability to create exploded views, bill of materials, and specifications for production. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials used in door production (e.g., wood, metal, glass, hardware). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to design challenges. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Preferred Skills: Experience with carpentry and/or the building industry is a plus. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., fire-rated doors, safety standards).
