JOB SUMMARY:

Cerrowire is currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Engineering Team at our Hartselle, Alabama facility! This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment and enjoys a hands-on, traditional production setting.
In this role, you’ll work closely with production teams, maintenance staff, and plant leadership, so strong communication skills are essential. This position offers excellent exposure to manufacturing processes and is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their engineering career within a dynamic and supportive organization.
This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and plays a key part in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the plant.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • CAD skills (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred
  • General understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • General understanding of automated manufacturing concepts
  • Experience with systematic problem-solving tools (5 why, fishbone, etc.)
  • General understanding of project management tools (Project scope, Gantt charts, budgeting, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to summarize then document work
  • Team first attitude with the ability to work and produce positive results independently
  • Proactive approach to problem solving

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to maneuver through racks, aisles, and other areas of the plant.
  • Physical activity including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50lbs), and walking (up to 80% of the day).
  • Ability to climb ladders as needed for auditing/ inspections.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in problem solving relating to product/process systems.
  • Troubleshooting various electro-mechanical systems and machine centers.
  • Develop and/or update process parameters for manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new products, processes, and systems.
  • Interfacing with various wire and cable industry vendors.
  • General focus on process improvement and cost savings projects.
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures for manufacturing teams.
  • Work with contractors to install or update equipment.
  • Commission new equipment with appropriate handoff to Production and Maintenance.
    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
