Description Job Summary: Responsible for learning and optimizing processes, developing and improving automated and testing operations, and supporting production and quality in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs and safety. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Ensures appropriate production methods, cycle-time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. Identifies and recommend improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements. Ensures the production process complies with the project targets. Approves the design for processes developed internally or externally and performs final tests with respect to the project. Provides support to Production during the internal/external process/ equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources. Plan details of assigned project, including methods and scope of work under the functional guidance of senior personnel where some detailed outline of procedures and desired results are given. Coordinates design and development of projects with related activities to ensure compatibility of design and adherence to specifications. Prepares materials for effective, efficient training of machine operators. Serves as liaison with equipment manufacturers for process and machinery improvements. Establishes and conducts test, analyzes and interprets test results and prepares reports summarizing methods employed and results obtained in the solution of the assigned project. Requires the limited use and/or application of basic engineering or scientific principles, theories and concepts to develop solutions to problems of limited scope. Prepares training manuals, operating procedures and instructions for manufacturing processes. Ensures proper manufacturing procedures are followed, adhering to all safety policies and procedures and quality regulations and standards, and achieving optimal operational costs. Identifies production process problems, conducts tests and experiments to analyze problems; solves problems in conjunction with other departments. Provides technical support to technicians and production personnel in response to production issues or during preventative maintenance utilizing excellent interpersonal skills. Troubleshoot machinery as required with the support of a qualified technician. Creates and manages project plans for continuous improvement initiatives, delivering results as committed. Analyzes manufacturing process capabilities of new products to identify potential production processing. Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of blueprint reading. Strong Computer Skills (Email, Excel, Charts, Power BI) Excellent oral and written communication skills. Continuous Improvement / Problem Solving / Analytical Skills (FMEA, Lean, Six Sigma methodologies). Demonstrate ability to resolve conflicts and address employee/management concerns to achieve win-win results. Deployment and Monitoring of Key Indicators. Formalization and Transmission of Knowledge and Skills. Project Management and Innovation. Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Education and Experience: At least two years’ related experience required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or similar). Physical Requirements: Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, mobile equipment, and walking surfaces strewn with materials, power cords and tools are typical. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs. Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling and walking 8 to 10 hours per day. Ability to work up to 8-10 hour shifts and overtime as required by the work. Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time. Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area.
