Job Summary: The Manufacturing Process Engineer develops and implements safe, optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role will involve supporting manufacturing and designing processes, molds, fixtures, and tooling for large cast plastic manufacturing and machining. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to develop new processes, document them, and provide training as needed. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is also required.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for large cast plastic manufacturing and machining operations.
  • Design and develop molds, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify opportunities for process improvement, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Lead process improvement projects, from concept development to implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Document new processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions, and provide training to production teams as needed.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create detailed designs, models, and technical drawings for molds, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new manufacturing processes and tooling designs.
  • Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshooting issues related to manufacturing processes, molds, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and components for molds, fixtures, and tooling, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing input and recommendations to enhance manufacturability and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in manufacturing technology, and best practices in large cast plastic manufacturing and machining.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.
  • Estimate production times, capacities, staffing requirements, and related costs and provide information and recommendations for management decisions.
  • Researches, identifies, proposes, and implements new manufacturing technology including automation, controls, robotics, etc.
