Description

American Polymer Company specializes in the manufacturing of precast underground vaults. APC manufacturers product via traditional open pour precast, thermoplastic, thermoset, and other processes.
APC Manufacturing Product Engineer designs, develops, and tests products, ensuring they meet customer needs and are produced efficiently, while also overseeing the manufacturing process and continuously improving product quality. You will join our growing team of professionals and be responsible for ensuring health and safety codes are followed, developing engineering processes, identifying problems in the production line, troubleshooting equipment, and completing various administrative tasks.
To be successful as a production engineer, you should be an independent thinker and keen problem-solver. Outstanding production engineers can diagnose problems, train staff, and provide effective recommendations.

PRODUCTION ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Experience in product manufacturing.
  • Experience with current standards – ANSI/SCTE, AASHTO, WUC, and others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office products.
  • Proven experience in the engineering field.
  • Superb analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, organize and maintain product documents, such as drawings, operating procedures, process documents, etc.
  • Work with sales team to provide resources needed for customers’ engineering requirements.
  • Execute project-based submittal needs, such as DOTs, large contracts, etc.
  • Create plans that improve production, costs, and labor required.
  • Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.
  • Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production and sharing knowledge with co-workers.
  • Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices.
  • Analyzing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Obtaining any materials and equipment required.
