Description Project-Based Manufacturing Execution Lead and execute assigned manufacturing and engineering projects across machining sites. Support new program launches, transfers, and complex machining introductions. Drive closure of cross-site engineering initiatives within defined timelines and scope. Producibility & Manufacturing Readiness Conduct manufacturability and producibility reviews. Identify machining risks and mitigation strategies prior to release to production. Support advanced machining strategies including multi-axis and mill-turn applications. Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead cycle time reduction, yield improvement, and scrap reduction projects. Quantify and report measurable savings and operational impact. Support enterprise-level CI portfolio execution. NC Programming & Process Support Collaborate with NC Programming to standardize methods and improve programming efficiency. Support simulation validation, post-processor consistency, and process optimization. Assist with cross-site capacity balancing and programming coordination. Technology Deployment & Standardization Support implementation of: CNC capital equipment Manufacturing Automation Probing and in-process inspection strategies NC Post-Processing standards Digital workflows (i.e. quoting, quality, manufacturing planning) Ensure adoption and operational integration across sites. Develop and document standardized best practices. Cross-Site Integration Serve as technical liaison between enterprise engineering and plant operations. Travel to machining sites to support floor-level execution. Facilitate knowledge transfer and best practice alignment across locations. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related technical field or an associate’s degree with equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in precision machining, manufacturing engineering, or production support. Strong understanding of: 3, 4, and 5-axis machining CNC programming fundamentals GD&T and blueprint interpretation Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing improvement projects. Working knowledge of CAM systems (NX, Mastercam, or equivalent). Strong project execution and organizational skills. Ability to travel to multiple manufacturing sites. Preferred Qualifications 8+ years of experience in machining-focused manufacturing environments. Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing. Experience with 5-Axis and mill-turn platforms and automation systems. Experience with building and/or implementing CNC post-processing strategies. Experience with using and/or implementing advanced on-machine probing strategies. Experience or exposure to advanced machine diagnostic methodologies (i.e. ball bar, machine modal analysis, liner and volumetric machine compensation). Experience implementing digital manufacturing tools (e.g., ERP, estimating, quality, manufacturing planning tools) Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing organizations.
Responsibilities
The Manufacturing/Production Support Engineer will lead engineering projects, support new program launches, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across machining sites.
