Generate Sustained Profitability Position Summary The Manufacturing Safety Intern supports the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team in promoting a safe and compliant workplace within a manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience with safety programs, audits, training, and incident prevention initiatives while gaining exposure to real-world manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Assist with workplace safety inspections and hazard identification Support incident, near-miss, and injury investigations Help maintain safety documentation, records, and reports Participate in job safety analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments Assist with safety training materials and employee training sessions Support compliance with OSHA and company safety standards Track and analyze safety metrics (e.g., incident rates, audit findings) Participate in safety committee meetings and improvement projects Assist with PPE programs and safety signage updates Requirements Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Manufacturing, or a related field Strong interest in workplace safety and manufacturing operations Basic knowledge of OSHA or safety principles (coursework acceptable) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Prior internship or coursework related to safety or manufacturing Familiarity with safety management systems or audits Strong communication and teamwork skills Physical Requirements Ability to walk manufacturing floors and wear required PPE Ability to lift up to [e.g., 25 lbs] if necessary Learning Outcomes Practical experience with manufacturing safety systems Exposure to regulatory compliance and risk management Development of professional communication and reporting skills We are looking for people who are highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
