Description Summary/Objective The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of the various departments within the VanTran Business, such as Welding, Buffing, Core & Coil Assembly, Winding, Lacing, Tanking, Testing, Paint – Primer, Paint – Final, Final Finish. Essential Functions Daily On-Site Attendance. Conduct Daily Safety & 5S Walk-Thru of factory to ensure compliance and cleanliness. Ensure that the Processes for their respective departments are accurate. Ensure that their Team Players who report into them are accurately filling-out all of the Transformer Inspection Reports on-time & accurately. Ensure continual quality improvement for each of their respective departments. Drive continuous improvement in regards to 5S for each of their respective departments. Coordinate job assignments and Cross Training between and within departments. Establish, Maintain, and Lead 5S Programs for each of their respective departments. Establish at least two (2) Key Performance Indicators for each of their respective departments with assistance from the Quality Manager & the President &/or the Manufacturing Mngr. Create & Maintain Visual Boards for each of their respective departments. Establish, Maintain, and Lead Continuous Improvement Projects for each of their respective departments. Work with Human Resources to establish and maintain a monthly training session regarding cross training, quality, safety, special projects, etc. Ensure all Processes & work instructions for their respective departments are updated. Work w/ Engineering & Quality Manager to solve any & all quality issues. Follow-up on and close any pending Preventive and Corrective Action requests that are applicable to their respective departments. Consult with other Manufacturing Supervisors, as needed, to increase productivity in Manufacturing Department. Review work orders/tickets for errors. Verify Quality Control tests throughout respective Departments (TTR, Paint mil thickness, other tests as apply to specific Departments). Manage time and attendance for Manufacturing Team. Requirements Environment/Physical Requirements The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate each department in the Office and Factory Floor. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 12pm-8:30pm. However, as with any Supervisor Leadership position, days may start sooner than 12pm and may last longer than 8:30pm. Also, it should be known, that if a Department does not meet their schedule during the Mon-Fri period, then most likely weekends will be involved, if need be. Travel Travel is very rare, unless the need arises to fix a customer problem in the field. Education and Experience High School diploma required. 3+ years’ Supervisor or Team Lead equivalent experience required.
