Description Summary The Manufacturing Supervisor position is responsible for supervising shop employees in an assembly or parts producing environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. The supervisor will strive to maintain high employee morale and will respond diligently and effectively with any personnel issues. The supervisor recommends and assists in the continuous improvement of the Ferno Wilmington operation, playing a key role within the Wilmington Site management team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Make employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution. Work closely with support staff in cross-functional teams (i.e. Demand Planning, Warehouse, Central Stores, Shipping, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.) to resolve issues and develop/ implement process improvements. Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas. Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to the manager. Manage assigned CAPA and PCS projects effectively and on schedule. Investigate Part Scrap Replacement/Root Cause Analysis and Correction investigations. Perform annual performance appraisals with each employee. Maintain proper inventory levels in assigned areas. Manage department priorities from a daily, weekly, and monthly perspective. Attend meetings as necessary and provide value added updates on any assigned duties or areas or responsibility. Exceed productivity and efficiently achieve goals while maintaining quality. Track employee absenteeism and timekeeping as per the schedule. Maintain 5S on the production floor. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position manages all employees of the assigned departments and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department. The supervisor is responsible for the general day-to-day operations of assigned departments. This is a full-time exempt position. Normal hours of work are Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work as job duties demand. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field of study or equivalent experience.
