SUMMARY The Manufacturing Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and optimization for welding processes in new product development and production. This position will lead the improvement of welding efficiency, quality, and safety, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop and optimize welding process flows for new products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations. Estimate cycle time and labor costs associated with welding operations, contributing to cost-effective production planning. Design and develop welding fixtures and automation solutions to enhance production line efficiency and reduce manual labor. Train and qualify welding operators to ensure compliance with welding workshop SOPs and to handle welding equipment proficiently. Lead continuous improvement projects for welding processes, focusing on increasing production efficiency and quality. Establish and maintain standard workshop cycle times and labor pricing for welding operations. Optimize existing welding automation equipment and fixtures, ensuring they are maintained and functioning efficiently. Estimate costs for non-standard welding automation design and manufacturing, with a strong focus on cost control and reduction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure welding processes are integrated effectively into overall production workflows. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Familiar with welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and robotic welding, and able to handle related manufacturing processes based on drawings or prototypes. Proficient in AutoCAD, Solidworks, PRO/E, and Microsoft Office for design and documentation. Knowledge of welding materials, surface treatment processes, and process technology for metal materials. Experience with non-standard welding automation design and manufacturing. Understanding of mechanical structures, principles, and the ability to design welding automation equipment and production fixtures. At least 5 years of welding process manufacturing or automation experience in the infant and child products industry. EDUCATION & SKILLS Education above junior college level. Strong ability to analyze and deal with problems. Familiar with the manufacturing process of infant and child products. Reading & writing English is preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification is preferred. APICS or similar certification a plus. COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. PHYSICAL DEMANDS When carrying out this task, we need to stand or sit up, have flexible hands and feet, and have normal listening and speaking ability. The ability of color judgment is needed.
