Description The Opportunity Batesville Tool & Die (BTD) is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Integration Administrator (Engineer) to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our manufacturing technology ecosystem. This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor role responsible for integrating ERP systems, plant-floor technologies, data platforms, and emerging AI solutions that directly support production, operational efficiency, and business insight. Reporting to the IT Manager, this position sits at the intersection of Plex ERP, IT/OT environments, automation, SQL/data, and security. While the role does not include direct people management, it carries significant technical influence and serves as a trusted technical resource across IT, Operations, and third-party partners. What sets us apart: Stability with Momentum: Nearly five decades of continuous operation with ongoing investment in manufacturing technology and systems modernization Influence Without Bureaucracy: Direct access to leadership and the ability to shape solutions without layers of corporate red tape Real-World Impact: Your work directly supports plant-floor operations, data visibility, and decision-making Security-First Culture: Technology decisions are made with governance, protection, and long-term sustainability in mind Responsible Innovation: Active investment in business intelligence and AI through trusted partners, with an emphasis on practical value Community-Focused Values: Rooted in a close-knit Indiana community where integrity, accountability, and relationships matter Requirements What You’ll Do Manufacturing Systems & ERP Integration Design, support, and enhance integrations between Plex ERP, manufacturing systems, and plant-floor technologies Serve as a technical owner for ERP integration across operations, reporting, and automation platforms Partner with Operations and vendors to improve ERP-to-manufacturing system data flows Enable production data integration for analytics, automation, and business intelligence IT/OT & Plant-Floor Technology Support and integrate Niagara Workbench (Mach II), PLCs, and industrial control systems Work within secure IT/OT environments, including domains, certificates, and networked manufacturing devices Ensure plant-floor systems integrate reliably with ERP and enterprise platforms Programming, SQL & Automation Develop and maintain SQL/MySQL databases, queries, and procedures Write and support SQL programming for reporting and system integration Build and support web-based tools using PHP, JavaScript, and CSS Create and maintain advanced Excel macros for operational automation Use PowerShell scripting to automate system administration and security tasks Security-First Engineering Apply a security-first mindset to all systems, integrations, and automation efforts Support endpoint protection and MDR tools (CrowdStrike, Darktrace, or similar preferred) Assist with security event investigation and response Support VPN, MFA, and firewall configurations (Fortinet and DUO preferred) Collaborate on security policies, standards, and procedures Infrastructure, M365 & Networking Support Support Windows servers, including physical and virtual (Hyper-V) environments Assist with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and multi-domain environments Provide advanced Microsoft 365 administration, including SSO integrations Support VLANs, network devices, and wireless infrastructure Business Intelligence & AI Enablement Maintain working knowledge of Power BI and ERP/manufacturing data integration Partner with third-party providers on BI and AI initiatives Support AI enablement, governance, and responsible adoption practices Technical Enablement & Collaboration Serve as a technical resource and mentor within the IT team Support and guide others through troubleshooting and knowledge sharing Document systems, integrations, and best practices Align technical solutions with business and manufacturing objectives Who You Are Required: Experience with manufacturing systems integration and ERP platforms Strong skills in SQL/MySQL database management and SQL programming Experience with web development (PHP, JavaScript, CSS) Advanced experience with Excel macros and automation Working knowledge of Windows server environments and scripting Security-minded approach to system design and problem solving Preferred: Experience supporting or integrating Plex ERP Experience with Niagara Workbench, Mach II, PLCs, or industrial control systems Experience working in IT/OT manufacturing environments Familiarity with Power BI and enterprise BI tools Exposure to AI tools, AI strategy, or AI governance Experience with Fortinet, CrowdStrike, Darktrace, Veeam, PDQ, or Qualys Compensation & Benefits Competitive Salary: $70,000 – $100,000.00 commensurate with experience Profit Sharing: Share in the success of the company Hybrid/Remote Flexibility: Considered after 6 months On-Site Health Clinic: Monday–Friday access, including physical therapy and generic prescriptions Tuition Reimbursement: Support for degrees and certifications, including Ivy Tech partnership and tuition deferment Award-Winning Insurance: Rosie Award (2025) benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, and more 401(k): Fidelity retirement plan with company match Paid Time Off & Holidays Wellness Program: Quarterly wellness challenges Employee Celebrations: Holiday events, Manufacturing Week, company picnic, attendance recognition, and seniority bonuses Ready to Make an Impact?
