Description:

ABOUT US

Hysata is on a mission is to accelerate the shift from fossil fuels to green hydrogen, with a disruptive approach to electrolysis.
The Hysata founding team comprises electrolyser industry veterans and the company is backed by leading cleantech investors. Our breakthrough technology has been recognised in top-tier journal Nature Communications and has created a buzz in the green hydrogen sector due to its promise to revolutionise the economics of green hydrogen production. This is possible due to Hysata’s unique combination of low capex and an ultrahigh system efficiency of 95% – a gigantic leap vs existing electrolysers which are at around 75%.
On the pathway to net-zero, green hydrogen is going to be a massive new multi-trillion-dollar global industry, of similar scale to today’s natural gas industry. With its world-beating technology and strong customer pull, Hysata is targeting becoming the leading global electrolyser player, with multi-gigawatt-scale manufacturing and putting a major dent in global emissions.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician that will focus on preparing, assembling, and testing components across our membrane, electrode and assembly teams. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on skills, an innovative spirit for continuous improvement of our manufacturing and testing processes as we look to move towards scaling-up our production. Experience with chemical handling, electrochemical device assembly, and testing in a wet lab or industrial setting will be useful. You will thrive in the fast-paced start-up world where no two days are the same. You’ll be joining a team of smart, driven, collaborative and highly dedicated individuals who love solving engineering challenges and who are excited to be fighting the climate crisis.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture electrodes and membranes for our electrolysers;
  • Quality control of raw materials, components and prepared materials – this involves using a variety of laboratory tools and equipment;
  • Perform solution sampling and chemical analysis;
  • Track and organise materials and components to ensure efficiency – this involves documenting parameters whilst making materials, labelling parts, and appropriate storage;
  • Assemble and test electrolyser devices with high attention to detail, following a defined protocol;
  • Use test results and data to implement improvements where relevant;
  • Communicate well and work with a broader team to problem solve various aspects of the electrolyser development and scale-up; and
  • Maintain laboratory conditions to ensure it is orderly and safe and comply with safety protocols for new and existing processes.
