Description Manufacturing Tech: Electronics Assembler and Magnet Assembler Since 1985, Data Security, Inc.® has been the world leader of National Security Agency (NSA) evaluated products for digital data destruction; through innovative design, we hold many patents. We design, manufacture, sell and support our products worldwide, from Lincoln, Nebraska. We are a small, locally owned and operated company, with a global customer base and a global impact on data security. The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the assembly of our products. They must follow blueprints, guidelines, and /or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met. They maintain required records of production and report any inconsistencies or equipment issues following standard procedures. Essential Functions · Assembly o Follow detailed schematics and instructions for assembly of products o Assemble circuit boards and wiring harnesses o Assemble magnetic subassemblies o Final assembly of products · Quality Assurance o Cross inspection of production o Calibrate and maintain assemblies for proper function o Discern quality of parts and materials used in production · Workplace Safety o Maintain tools and equipment used to create products o Follow all safety procedures and policies o Keep a clean workspace · Other duties as assigned Competencies · Technically orientated with strong desire for precision · Must have knowledge of hand tools and fasteners · Able to work within established systems, standards and procedures · Able to work with minimal supervision in a stable and repetitive environment · Able to work from blueprints and follow detailed instructions · Able to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing · Must be a team player, self-motivated, dependable and dedicated Work Environment This job operates primarily on a manufacturing floor, with individual workspaces (ie. Cell Manufacturing). Our manufacturing environment is clean and safe; each tech can semi-tailor their workstation to their personality and needs. Physical Demands While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk or stand. The employee is frequently required to walk or stand. The employee is occasionally required to bend, twist or reach as well as lift and/or move up to 75 lbs, carry up to 35 lbs for a distance up to 10 feet, push/pull up to 200 lbs and grip tools with a force up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision preferred and the ability to adjust focus between multiple tasks. Working with hand and battery-operated tools as well as pallet jacks and hoists are also required. Classification Hourly Non-Exempt Reports To Production Manager Availability 40 hours per week, must be available 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Flexible schedule available once fully trained. Required Education and Experience A high school diploma or its equivalent Preferred Education and Experience A high school diploma or its equivalent with one to two years of experience in a manufacturing and/or production setting.
