JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Technician to play a key role in building and testing Scentroid products. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, precision assembly, and bringing products from concept to reality. You will be involved in the full manufacturing process from mechanical assembly and electronics integration to tooling, calibration, and quality control.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (asset but not mandatory with experience)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, or product testing
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments
  • Proficiency in soldering, wiring, and working with PCB assemblies
  • Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electronic issues
  • Familiarity with calibration methods for sensors and electronic equipment (asset)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, or CNC machining (asset)
  • Strong attention to detail, quality standards, and safety practices
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience with air quality sensors or environmental monitoring equipment
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, embedded systems, or IoT devices
  • Strong computer skills for testing equipment and data logging
  • Familiarity with CAD or 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks)
Responsibilities
  • Assemble electronic and mechanical components into finished products using hand tools, power tools, and precision equipment
  • Read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions
  • Perform soldering and wiring of circuit boards, sensors, and connectors
  • Use machining, drilling, fastening, and other mechanical techniques to build housings and subsystems
  • Operate and maintain shop tools (e.g., drills, presses, laser cutters, 3D printers) for part fabrication and modification
  • Install and integrate mechanical and electronic subsystems into final products
  • Conduct functional testing and troubleshooting to ensure performance and safety compliance
  • Calibrate sensors and measurement devices according to established standards
  • Inspect assemblies for accuracy, fit, and finish before release
  • Maintain detailed records of builds, tests, and calibration activities
  • Provide feedback to improve manufacturing processes, tooling setups, and product design
