Description

Staffplus Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician for our client based in Livingston.
This is 6 month long term sickness cover.
Hours of work - Monday to Thursday (0600am to 1630pm).
Salary - £26,217.
Role Description:
As a Manufacturing Technician, your role will be to produce components and assemblies that will ultimately be used to create a medical (diagnostic) device. You will work on both R&D and routine manufacturing projects where the finished diagnostic could help to diagnose COVID-19, cancer, or support a diabetic to manage their blood glucose level. Whatever the product or project, attention to detail and quality are paramount.
Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for: -

  • Manufacturing components and assemblies in a controlled / cleanroom environment
  • Utilising equipment such as lasers, screen printing, drying, and packaging equipment
  • Following work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Completing batch records
  • Executing experiments
  • Ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience required

Essential:

  • Applications are welcomed from both experienced and inexperienced individuals, including graduates. Either way, you are likely to have a genuine interest in working in a manufacturing / engineering environment
  • Be highly numerate and literate
  • Be computer literate and have proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Be capable of recording information accurately
  • Be capable of performing repetitive tasks whilst retaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Have good eyesight for minute and detailed work
  • Have good manual dexterity
  • Be capable of operating high tech equipment in a safe and controlled fashion
  • Be able to work a rotating shift pattern

Desirable:

  • Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GmP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS such as ISO9000 or ISO13485)
  • Experience in the manufacture of point of care diagnostics
  • Experience of working in a laboratory or cleanroom
