Manufacturing Technologist, Downstream   The Biologics Manufacturing Center (BMC) Inc. is a new biomanufacturing facility created in response to the pandemic. A not-for-profit organization, the BMC aims to better meet the biopharmaceutical needs of Canadians. We are looking for a Manufacturing Technologist to join our downstream team. At the heart of manufacturing operations, this individual will be part of a small, highly technical team responsible for preparing, executing, and documenting purification activities for biological products and vaccines. The Manufacturing Technologist, Downstream will have the following responsibilities: * Perform large-scale purification activities in accordance with client process requirements * Operate specialized equipment, including chromatography columns and software interfaces such as AKTA Ready, AKTA Readyflux, and Unicorn * Carry out calibration, performance verification, and troubleshooting of equipment and instruments to ensure reliability * Actively participate in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) training, including SOPs and manufacturing procedures * Contribute to drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure accurate data collection and recording in appropriate documents * Collaborate in coordinating and producing logbooks, batch manufacturing records, and client reports * Perform sampling in compliance with GMP, provide required samples, and conduct environmental monitoring * Promote and adhere to established health and safety standards * Perform and document cleaning of manufacturing areas in accordance with established procedures. We want to receive your resume if:  * You hold at least a post-secondary diploma in a life sciences-related discipline. * You have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in preparing, executing, and documenting manufacturing or laboratory activities in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. * A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. * You have practical experience in purification (nanofiltration, TFF, chromatography). * You have hands-on experience with method or recipe-based equipment control software. * The regular schedule is daytime, Monday to Friday; however, based on manufacturing cycles, overtime may be required, including nights, weekends, and holidays. * You must be able to handle and lift up to 10 kilograms. Responsibilities
