Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Manager to support the Manufacturing Training Center in Berkeley, MO!
This Manufacturing & Safety FLL position is for the stand up of the new Manufacturing Training Center (MTC). The St Louis site is standing up a Manufacturing Training Center for all new hire mechanics joining our Fighter Programs. The purpose is to take new hire mechanics coming out of the Apprenticeship program and build on that training to further enhance their learning in a safe controlled environment yielding mechanics that can execute in our current production environment.
The learning journey new hires will start on by going through the Apprenticeship program and then into the MTC is an investment we are making to set our team up for success from the start but changes the way we bring people on and engages our new hires in their own success to partner for building our future and this role will serve as a critical part of the team to lead the performance, and shape the program.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • More than 2 years’ experience with leadership and project management
  • More than 2 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • More than 2 years’ experience leading and influencing cross – functional teams
  • Experience influencing and driving operational performance
  • Experience in developing and reporting performance metrics
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience conducting meetings and capturing actions, to include follow through of actions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Active Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Experience leading or managing in a collective bargaining agreement and/or union represented workforce
Responsibilities
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies around the Manufacturing Training Center
  • Work with cross functional teams to aid in the delivery of a blended experiential & repetitive approach to continuing the practical application of our fundamental skills by using integrated learning solutions including spending half the day on product producing in the line, and half the day performing repetitive skill projects and learning the production system.
  • Develop plans to introduce and align new mechanics to lean manufacturing, moonshine, Safety Dojo, and advanced site capabilities to build their knowledge set for solving the problems they face
  • Acquires resources and leads process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
