ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 7 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Experience applying project management best practices.
  • Experience in a fast growing manufacturing setting.
  • Technical Skills: MS Office proficiency, specifically MS Word and MS Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of ERP/inventory management/WMS software and implementation strategies.
  • Extremely high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Methodical and process-oriented, always following established procedures.
  • Strong ability to manage time and tasks efficiently.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both intra- and interdepartmentally.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Able to clearly see small irregularities or defects on parts.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the warehouse operations of Powersmiths multiple GTA-based locations.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including material inputs receiving and storage, material picking and preparation/value-add for the production lines, and shipping of finished products.
  • Manage and oversee intercompany and interbuilding product moves.
  • Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, safety, quality, and service levels.
  • Value-stream map current operations and research, identify, evaluate and implement warehouse operations technologies and process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage inventory control, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and proper organization and identification to ensure inventory accuracy and on-time
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, and train and manage employees to achieve short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Define, maintain, and conduct day-to-day and long-term Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) plan of warehouse tools, machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and applying standards and procedures to comply with company requirements and legal regulations.
  • Manage shipping coordination including contact with carriers, and documentation administration including bills of lading and packing lists.
  • Work with the supply chain team to forecast inventory needs of consumables and indirect purchasing needs.
  • Identify slow moving inventory and work with Operations team for disposition.
  • Define, develop, and implement strategies for environmental and social stewardship, such as waste and/or packaging materials reduction or returnable packaging/dunnage.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop strategies to optimize workflows, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
