MARINE COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will combine operational expertise with strategic problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused approach to ensure the efficient execution of petroleum vessel operations and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

MARINE COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS COORDINATOR POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Transportation, Marine Engineering, Logistics, or a related field; OR A combination of formal education and at least 9 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial marine operations
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in petroleum vessel operations, chartering, or marine transportation
  • At least 1 year of seagoing experience is required
  • Proven experience working in complex logistical environments with leadership responsibility
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach to relationship management
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve operational processes for efficiency and compliance
  • Financial acumen, including cost analysis and variance reporting
  • Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to interpret market trends and operational data to support decision-making
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience supporting or leading change management and process improvement initiatives

MARINE COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS COORDINATOR PREFERRED POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and IMOS Veson
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Knowledge of voyage management systems, ERP platforms, and maritime compliance tools is an advantage
  • Ability to manage and coordinate operations across multiple vessels simultaneously

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day scheduling, execution, and commercial performance of vessel voyages
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customers regarding voyage updates, cargo logistics, invoicing, fuel escalations, and other commercial matters
  • Act as strategic escalation point for operational or contractual issues, working closely with internal departments
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of charter party agreements, supporting documentation for invoicing, and claims management
  • Coordinate voyage orders, confirm cargo compatibility, and communicate critical voyage updates to stakeholders across the supply chain
  • Monitor voyage performance and operational metrics, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with customers to manage off-hire events, ensuring transparency and maintaining commercial alignment
  • Lead regular customer performance reviews, present operational data, and work jointly on service improvement initiatives
  • Conduct vessel visits when necessary to ensure alignment with operational and customer expectations
