Job Description As a Marine Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and oversight of all marine operations on our different international projects. You will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of all marine activities. Your first projects will be in Tanga (Tanzania) and Pemba (Mozambique). Key Responsibilities Project Coordination: Lead and coordinate all marine operations across the project, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Fleet & Vessel Management: Oversee the deployment, operation, and maintenance of marine vessels and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with international and local maritime regulations. Operational Oversight: Monitor daily marine activities, troubleshoot operational challenges, and implement strategic solutions to enhance efficiency and safety. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, port authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth execution of marine works. Safety & Environmental Compliance: Champion BESIX’s safety culture and environmental standards, conducting regular audits and promoting continuous improvement. Team Leadership: Empower and guide marine crews and site teams, fostering a collaborative and proactive work environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Nautical Studies, or other related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in marine operations. Proven expertise in large size marine construction project. Strong knowledge of vessel operations, fleet logistics, and marine safety protocols. Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and communication skills. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus. Willingness and flexibility to travel, live and work abroad on project sites (also in camps!). Work experience in Africa is a plus.
