  • Restricted Operator Certificate – Marine (ROC-M) is an asset.
  • Prior experience as a deckhand, or working knowledge of tug and barge operations, is an asset but not required—training is provided.
  • Strong work ethic, teamwork, and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions.
  • Physically fit and able to handle heavy lines, climb ladders, and perform deck duties safely.
  • Must be (or willing to become) a member in good standing with ILWU Local 400.
  • Bridgewatch certification will get you in front of the line.
  • D&A Screening.
  • Criminal Background Check.
  • Extensive onboarding process online and in person.
