We are seeking a motivated and skilled Marine/Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing marine equipment and structures, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. Duties

• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals to accurately assemble and repair marine components
• Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to carry out installation, maintenance, and repair tasks efficiently
• Conduct inspections of marine equipment to identify issues and perform necessary adjustments or replacements
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot mechanical problems and develop effective solutions
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and inspection results for compliance and quality assurance
• Follow safety protocols rigorously to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
• Assist in the assembly and disassembly of marine structures during maintenance or project upgrades

Experience

• Proven experience working as a marine fitter or in a similar mechanical role within the maritime or industrial sector
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical diagrams and manuals accurately
• Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc., as well as power tools like drills, grinders, and saws
• Familiarity with marine systems, equipment, or structures is highly desirable/tailshafts/rudder/pumps/winches
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting mechanical issues

Pay: £20.00 per hour
