Duties and Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of engineering department. Participate in new product development integrating technological advancements with dealer and customer inputs as well as market trends. Primary areas of responsibility to include: Manage new product development and integration from concept through production Coordinate custom part design and documentation for vendors and customer-specific requests Develop and maintain internal part numbers and BOMs Serve as supplier liaison to ensure awareness of engineering-related changes and updates Develop electrical designs, schematics, and system upgrades in coordination with equipment suppliers Manage Engineering Change processes, including ECN creation and approval, to implement improvements regarding manufacturability, cost, or quality Lead Model Year Change management, including documentation of affected models, cost impacts, and implementation details Develop and nest parts for fabrication using CNC router to optimize yield and assist in resolving production issues Act as the company Standards Compliance Specialist for NMMA certification requirements Attend NMMA Engineering Compliance Seminars on a biannual basis Generate and maintain documentation for build books and SOPs to improve production efficiency Participate in senior leadership team meetings twice weekly to ensure communication across all departments Develop fixtures and tooling solutions as required to improve manufacturability Maintain product configurator platform and creation of new product options Participate in annual safety audit with a compliance inspector to ensure all models meet ABYC Standards Work Environment Must have the ability to work in a fiberglass manufacturing environment. Requirements Physical Requirements Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Ability to work 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching. Moderate lifting ability up to 30 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications BA Degree in Engineering A strong attention to detail Familiar with basic hand and power tools Experience with AutoCAD, Office, and 3D modeling software Authorized to work in the United States Must pass a pre-employment drug screening Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in the boat manufacturing industry Familiar with 3-axis CNC machine Experience with Infor Visual MFG, Experlogix, and Adobe Illustrator Familiar with ABYC Standards
