Description:
Due to continued expansion and restructuring at our yard, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineer/Mechanic to join our busy team.
Initially, the position will be a dual location. The primary location being Willington, Derbyshire, and the secondary location being Streethay Wharf on the outskirts of Lichfield.
The role requires flexible and a quick-thinking individual with a skill set to match as the role is varied and interesting. The ideal candidate would have some of the following including excellent customer service skills:
- Some experience of working with Narrowboats would be helpful but not essential.
- Experience in the repair, service and maintenance of engines, i.e. basic compression and ignition diesels with 12v electric systems.
- Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of AC/DC electrical systems.
- Knowledge of gas systems also useful but not essential.
- Knowledge of plumbing also helpful but not essential.
- Confidence when giving advice and speaking to customers in a professional manner.
- A passion for the job and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle for commuting.
Specific training will be provided for the successful candidate. There is also potential for extra training to be provided should you wish to pursue this.
Job Types: Full-time permanent
Salary: £28,275.00-£34,125.00 per year depending on experience.
This would be based on 37.5hrs a week
