* 35 hours per week * Temporary until 29 January 2027 * Location: Coffs Harbour Jetty * Clerk Grade 9/10 | Salary from $129,464.00 plus super and leave loading   About the role As the Marine Park Manager, you will lead a small team to manage operations for the Solitary Islands Marine Park consistent with the requirements of the Marine Estate Management Act 2014 and regulations. This is a special opportunity to play a role in conserving one of NSW’s most iconic marine environments while balancing sustainable use and community values.  Key responsibilities include:  * Overseeing operations of the marine park, including frontline customer service, stakeholder engagement and community education programs.  * Managing environmental assessments, marine park permits and consultation requirements within delegated authority.   * Managing emerging issues and incidents in partnership with key stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes. * Ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of marine park assets and equipment, including vessels and extensive signage, mooring and marker networks.  * Supporting the statutory review of marine park management rules and contributing to the implementation of the Mainland Marine Park Network Management Plan.  * Preparing high-level correspondence, briefing notes, and executive advice on sensitive marine park issues, legislation and policy.  * Acting as the secretariat for the Solitary Islands Marine Park Advisory Committee. * Liaising with the Australian Government in delivery of operations within the Solitary Islands Marine Park (Commonwealth waters).    About You To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following: * You are an experienced professional with a passion for marine conservation and operational leadership. * Extensive experience in natural resource, environmental, or protected area management. * Sound knowledge of contemporary marine and coastal management issues.  * Proven ability to engage and negotiate with First Nations People and diverse stakeholders, including community groups, commercial operators, and government agencies.  * Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a small team and build relationships at senior levels.  * Practical boating experience and boat handling skills, including a Coxswain’s Certificate (or ability to obtain).  * Current Class C manual driver’s licence * Flexibility to travel across NSW and work outside standard hours when required.    Applying for the role Apply online by submitting a current resume and one page cover letter that outlines your skills and experience relevant to the role.
