Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Marine Purchase Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring marine-related materials, spare parts, equipment, and services to support ongoing marine operations, vessel maintenance, and port services. This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of quality materials while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and service providers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2–4 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the marine, shipping, or offshore services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, equipment, and vendor networks.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, marine logistics, and import/export procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP or purchasing software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, AMOS) is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple procurement requests simultaneously.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.

  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranty conditions with vendors.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up on timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Coordinate with the technical, operations, and logistics teams to ensure items meet specifications and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, price history, supplier performance, and delivery documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and marine industry standards.
  • Track and manage inventory levels of critical marine parts and consumables.
  • Handle urgent purchase requests.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
