Description Boater’s World Marine Centers in Islamorada is seeking a Marine Rigger to join our Service Department. This role focuses on installing outboard engines, rigging systems, and marine accessories on both customer vessels and dealership inventory. The Marine Rigger works closely with our Service and Parts teams to ensure boats are properly rigged, systems are installed correctly, and vessels leave the dealership ready for the water. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with mechanical ability who enjoys working around boats and marine equipment in a fast-paced dealership environment. Key Responsibilities Outboard Rigging & Installation Assist with the removal and installation of outboard engines on customer and dealership boats Install steering systems, control cables, hydraulic lines, and rigging components Route wiring harnesses, fuel lines, hoses, and rigging tubes according to manufacturer specifications Perform system checks and basic setup of installed engines and controls Electronics & Accessory Installation Install marine accessories such as jack plates, trolling motors, shallow water anchors, trailer lighting, and other rigging components Remove and replace marine electronics including GPS units, fish finders, gauges, and stereo systems Install wiring harnesses, switches, controls, and NMEA networks as required Service Department Support Work closely with Service Technicians and the Parts Department to complete rigging and installation tasks Identify and communicate any additional service needs to the Service Manager Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Assist with staging boats for service completion, delivery, or customer pickup when needed Requirements Previous experience working around boats, marine equipment, or mechanical systems preferred Basic experience with outboard rigging, accessory installation, or marine electronics is a plus Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use tools and equipment Basic understanding of 12V marine electrical systems preferred Ability to follow installation instructions and manufacturer guidelines Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship Comfortable working in a shop and marine yard environment
