Description Outdoor Network is seeking a skilled Marine Technician to join our Government Services Division in Lake Placid, FL. This role focuses on supporting government and public sector marine operations through hands-on service, diagnostics, and repair of outboard engines and marine systems. The technician will work in a structured, non-retail environment where accuracy, reliability, and compliance are critical to daily operations. This is a non-retail position focused strictly on government and fleet support work, offering a consistent workflow and an opportunity to work on mission-critical vessels. Outboard Service & Repair Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on outboard engines (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki preferred) Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with a high level of accuracy Complete service work in accordance with manufacturer, safety, and regulatory standards Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure vessel readiness Rigging & Installation Perform rigging of outboard engines and related components Install controls, wiring, steering systems, and marine electronics as needed Support repowers and system upgrades on government vessels Ensure all rigging work is completed safely, accurately, and to specification General Boat & Fleet Support Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on boats and marine systems Assist with fleet upkeep, service preparation, and operational readiness Support staging and preparation of vessels for deployment and use Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation as required Shop & Team Support Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Work closely with leadership to complete assigned tasks efficiently Follow structured workflows and comply with all operational procedures Assist with additional duties as needed to support department operations Requirements 3+ years of marine technician experience preferred Strong experience with outboard engines and marine systems Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently Manufacturer certifications (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki) preferred but not required Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction Valid driver’s license required Work Expectations Ability to work in both shop and outdoor environments Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work throughout the day Ability to lift 40 pounds and perform physical tasks as required Maintain a professional, reliable, and consistent work ethic Additional Information This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all duties Responsibilities may change at any time based on business needs
