BMT is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from highly skilled and experienced defence Maritime Engineering and Engineering Management professionals to join our team in Perth and support our Maritime Sustainment programs. Your work at BMT will have a direct impact on national defence and security. You will be an essential part of the intricate system that safeguards our country and ensures the safety of our maritime assets.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will deliver innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions for maritime sustainment. Supporting our programs in various engineering disciplines, including but not limited to:

  • Maritime Engineering Management: Engineering Managers are the technical authority for our programs. Responsible for ensuring engineering governance, safety, certification, and technical assurance of sustainment activities across the specified project fleet.
  • Maritime Engineers: Do you have expertise in naval architecture, ship systems integration, or marine engineering? Experience in vessel design, performance analysis, or structural engineering will make you stand out.
  • Electrical Engineers: Are you proficient in electrical systems design, power distribution, or control systems? Knowledge of marine electrical systems, including navigation, communication, and propulsion, will be highly regarded.
  • Mechanical Engineers: Are you well-versed in mechanical systems, such as engines, pumps, and HVAC? Experience in marine mechanical systems or structural analysis will be highly valued.
  • Systems Engineers: Do you have a comprehensive understanding of complex systems engineering processes and methodologies? Proficiency in requirements analysis, system integration, and verification/validation is a must.
  • Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Specialists: Are you an expert in ILS principles, including reliability-centered maintenance, supply chain management, and life cycle support? Experience in defense or maritime industry ILS practices will be highly desirable.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a defence engineering professional, ideally within the maritime sector.
  • A strong background in one of the engineering disciplines listed above.
  • The ability to contribute to delivering innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions.
  • The ability to hold and maintain an active Australian Baseline Defence Security Clearance or above
