General Summary:
The Market Access and Pricing Specialist will work closely with the MA team to support key deliverables that will enable successful launches of Vertex products. Reporting into the Senior Director, this role will act as a single point of contact for Vertex HTA submissions, will coordinate the approval and signing of listing agreements and will ensure compliance with PMPRB reporting requirements. This role will play an integral part of the ongoing success of the MA team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with the Associate Directors to project manage HTA submission timelines and ensures the cross functional targets and deliverables are met
- Is the SME for administrative components of HTA submissions (CDA-AMC and INESSS) which requires detailed knowledge of the relevant processes, requirements, and associated timelines as well as the ability to translate written documents into template format
- Acts as an internal single point of contact for payer product listing agreements during the review and approval process
- Ensures that all mandatory reporting requirement (PMPRB and provincial) are completed compliantly
- Ensures that pricing information is accurate in internal Vertex pricing systems
- Works closely with internal finance and accounting teams to ensure SOP compliance
- Develops and manages contracts and navigates Vertex processes for external vendors and consultants.
- Other projects or activities in support of the MA team may be required
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical reimbursement in Canada is strongly preferred
- End to end project management support: kick-off, planning, monitoring and tracking execution
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
- Ability to communicate scientific information
- The ability to work independently but also establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues
- Ability to influence and lead without authority
- Being proactive & having a can-do attitude
- CMAP designation is a plu
- Bilingualism (English and French) required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s-level degree in health or business field (e.g. life science, public health, health economics, market access, business administration) or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Typically requires 3-4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or administrative capacity or the equivalent combination of education and experience
