Job Description

With over 14,000 professionals globally, GHD is a leading multidisciplinary professional services company delivering engineering, design, and advisory solutions across water, energy, resources, environment, property & buildings, and transportation sectors.

Energy Overview

Energy systems across the Middle East are evolving rapidly. Strong demand growth, major infrastructure investment, increasing renewable energy deployment and the growing need for storage, flexibility and digital solutions are creating new and complex requirements for how energy is planned, delivered and managed.

In response to this transforming landscape, GHD is bringing together regional insight and global technical expertise to help utilities, governments, developers and major energy users address these challenges. Our work spans electricity networks, renewable energy, utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), energy strategy and advisory, technical due diligence, regulatory support, grid integration, demand-side flexibility, and the energy needs of critical sectors such as data centres and water infrastructure, supporting clients throughout the lifecycle of their energy assets and systems.

To strengthen GHD’s response and support the continued growth of our Middle East Energy team, we are looking for highly motivated professionals who bring sound technical judgement to help us deliver reliable, resilient, and lower-carbon solutions that create lasting benefits for our communities.

Position Overview

As an Energy Consultant, you will have the opportunity to build your technical and consulting experience across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning electricity networks, renewable energy, energy storage, system integration, energy strategy and wider energy-transition initiatives.

Working alongside experienced engineers, consultants and project managers across GHD’s regional and global teams, you will contribute to technical and engineering assessments, feasibility and options studies, and advisory assignments for utilities, government entities, developers and major energy users.

This role is suited to an early-career professional with approximately one to two years of relevant experience who is keen to learn, take on increasing responsibility and build a career in energy consulting. You will receive practical support and mentoring as you develop your technical, analytical, project delivery, communication and client engagement capabilities.

  • Work collaboratively with regional and global teams and participate in project, client and site meetings where appropriate.
  • Manage assigned tasks and deliver quality work in accordance with agreed programme, governance and health and safety requirements.
  • Support and champion growth initiatives across GHD’s Middle East Energy team.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Energy or Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant early-career experience in consulting, utilities, project development, engineering or a related energy-sector environment.
  • Foundational understanding of energy systems, with exposure to one or more areas such as electricity networks, renewable energy, energy storage, energy analysis or system integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to interpret technical information, communicate clearly, manage priorities and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Good digital capability, including confidence with standard Microsoft applications and an aptitude for learning relevant engineering, AI applications, data-analysis and energy-modelling tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Why Join Us?
