Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.
As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.
Market Area Manager – Marine Capital Sales
Are you a passionate leader ready to drive growth and inspire a dynamic team? Do you enjoy building strong relationships, identifying new opportunities, and shaping the future in the marine sector? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
As Market Area Manager, you will lead sales to the Nordic newbuilding market, focusing on solutions across Alfa Laval’s vast portfolio of sustainable and energy efficient technical solutions. Leading a highly competent and dedicated team, you will drive growth towards shipyards, OEMs, system builders and ship designers by proactively identifying and seeking solutions that add value to our customers, in close collaboration with Alfa Laval’s business units.
Your Responsibilities

As Market Area Manager, you will play a pivotal role in growing the marine new-building market by:

  • Driving growth: Developing and executing strategies to expand the business and achieve results.
  • Leading your team: Inspiring and empowering your team to meet their goals and maximize their potential.
  • Shaping the market focus: Identifying opportunities, setting priorities, and implementing action plans to stay ahead of market changes.
  • Collaborating across functions: Working closely with Operations, central Business Units, and other key stakeholders to deliver customer value.
  • Building relationships: Nurturing strong, long-lasting partnerships with customers and staying attuned to market trends.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a customer-oriented, technically skilled and dialogue-oriented leader with a strong sales and people management background.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Leadership experience: A track record of successfully managing and motivating teams to achieve results.
  • Sales and marketing expertise: Experience in B2B sales, ideally in the marine industry.
  • Relationship-building skills: The ability to connect with customers and key stakeholders while navigating changes in the market.
  • Educational background: A degree in engineering or a related field is preferred, but we value your skills, experience, and leadership capabilities above all else.
  • Language skills: Proficiency in English is required, and at least one Nordic language - Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, or Swedish.

Location
Location: Preferably based in Sandvika, Norway. Other locations near key sites (e.g., Espoo, Søborg, Lund) may be considered, with approx. 50 travel days to Sandvika per year.
