Description JOB SUMMARY: Provide efficient, friendly service to guests. Prepare and serve menu items while assisting guests with sales. Maintain cleanliness and neatness of The Market while keeping the guests happy and providing any necessary assistance to them. Assist The Market manager with monthly inventory counting. Complete all necessary paperwork; account for sales, money and charges during shift. REPORTS TO: The Market Manager PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Maintain store cleanliness and appearance to exceed guest standards. Restock items as they run low. Prepare and serve menu items at the counter, tables and courtyard. Sales transactions are done on a cash register; this includes cash, card, or room charges. Complete all necessary paperwork due during your scheduled shift. Put away any orders when necessary, as well as fill out order forms when necessary. Always maintain a clean work environment while performing opening shift, mid shift, and closing shift duties. Provide excellent customer service to guests by greeting them with a smile and positive attitude while responding quickly and efficiently to their requests. RESPONSIBLE FOR: Cleanliness of uniforms and your person. The Market keys, cash, and any charges made during shift worked. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand entire shift. Some of the time will be spent working actively including but not limited to bending, stretching, lifting and walking. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Schedule includes weekends, holidays and shift work. Also, some extended hours and night shifts. All work takes place in the The Market. HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED: Hot cooking equipment, sharp knives can be dangerous if used in a careless manner. Wet or slippery floors and some cleaning chemicals can be hazardous if directions are not followed. Able to follow instructions and present adequate manners and respect. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, write, keep basic records and able to do simple arithmetic. PRIOR EXPERIENCE: None required, willing to train. Any prior knowledge or experience is a plus. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: After completion of training have a safe working practice using all equipment and cleaning supplies. PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS: Neat, clean, friendly; provide a variety of guests personable, attentive service while always being courteous. Must like dealing with the public and enjoy doing so. Must be able to work alone, as well as collaborate with other employees without constant supervision and be self-motivated and perform duties quickly and efficiently.
