SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required, associates+ preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in sales as a territory, market, area sales manager.
  • Willing and able to build their book of business from scratch.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • An understanding of HVAC systems & the industry preferred.
  • Can work on site and travel when needed (up to 75% of the time).
  • Must reside in Richmond.
  • Able to lead and inspire a team, capable and able to recruit and vet talent.
  • Flexible, able to shift focus on new tasks, objectives and projects on a dime. Can multitask, prioritize and juggle many initiatives at once.
  • Comfortable and competent in tracking, following up, reporting and ensuring we close on 1,000’s of opportunities & leads during each buyers journey.
  • Able to travel to customers and potential customers homes, perform inspections and provide recommendations based on our offerings.
  • An individual who can see the current state, is excited and motivated by the opportunity to build something from the ground up, and is seeking a long-term role and career in an honorable organization.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Market Manager to lead all aspects of sales and business development for the retail side of our company.
This is a hands-on role that involves implementing our go-to-market strategies throughout Richmond and surrounding areas; including providing on-site consultations and quotes, tracking and managing all communication to potential and upcoming customers, and representing our company in a best-in-class way.
The Market Manager is responsible for building a book of business from the ground up, including managing all accounts, processes and approach. Initially this role will not have any direct reports: In time, as we grow our retail side and see success, this role will be responsible for managing a sales team.
This is an on-site role with considerable travel required throughout Richmond. We are looking for a hunter, not a farmer; someone who is high-will, has experience growing a territory, and knows how to run their department to industry expectations and in an empowering, noble way.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales goals, analyze market data and secure new business opportunities.
  • Conduct demonstrations, on-site consultations, prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and partners within the HVAC and supporting industries.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, track metrics, define and improve upon current methods. This includes weekly performance updates to leadership, with future-looking goals, targets to hit.
  • Build a book of business from the ground up, by visiting potential clients and responding to inbound calls and emails.
  • Eventually building out and leading a sales team to duplicate efforts.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.
