JOB SUMMARY

The Market operator is responsible for maintaining and managing the stand throughout the day including delegation of an assistant. This means ensuring all products are up to quality standards and are displayed/refilled accordingly. We are looking for passionate individuals that want to increase their knowledge about fresh produce and create access while working with our communities.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Ability to work outdoors.
  • Experience in outside sales is highly desirable.
  • Able to routinely lift 40 lbs.
  • Strong English is a must.
    Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
    Contract length: 6 months
    Pay: $17.50-$25.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week

Responsibilities
  • Valid Class 5 Driver license for Alberta, with clean driver abstract
  • Ability to routinely lift 40lbs
  • Fluent in English as you will be speaking to customers throughout the day
  • Drive vehicle to destination, ensure market set up is complete and manage daily task lists
  • Must be able to work with the public as the main sales operator
  • Communication skills to relay and delegate tasks to assistant
  • Tracks and updates daily inventory for Logistics manager
  • Dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in increasing food security and community building
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and develop relationships.
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates ownership
  • Enthusiastic team player with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge/passion for food sustainability issues
  • Customer service driven with a strong desire of helping others
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Schedule flexibility with the ability to work evenings and weekends.
