Affordability and Utilities is responsible for leading and coordinating government’s ongoing efforts to make everyday life more affordable, with particular focus on the province’s utilities sector and electricity system.
The Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA) has a mandate to educate and mediate for Alberta’s small business, farm, and residential electricity, natural gas and water consumers, and advocate for energy consumers. We educate through a wide range of outreach and engagement activities; advocate by representing the interests of consumers; and mediate disputes between consumers and utility companies.
QUALIFICATIONS
University graduation in a related field (Economics, Business, Engineering, Political science, Environmental science, Law, Public administration etc.) and 2 years of progressively responsible related experience is required. Equivalencies may be considered as described below:
