About The Role

Sitting within AGL’s Energy Markets & Treasury Risk (EMTR) team, the Senior Market Risk Analyst is accountable for providing senior independent oversight and challenge for a defined commodity or treasury portfolio, while contributing to the ongoing effectiveness of AGL's market and treasury risk management framework. The role provides exposure to electricity, gas, environmental products, foreign exchange, interest rate, liquidity or funding risks, and involves regular engagement with senior stakeholders and governance forums.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Provide senior independent oversight of risk exposures for a defined commodity or treasury portfolio, ensuring activities remain within approved policies, limits and risk appetite.

- Provide effective challenge to trading, treasury and commercial activities, ensuring material risks are identified, understood and appropriately managed.

- Lead investigations into emerging risks, policy breaches, control failures and material risk events, supporting appropriate escalation and remediation activities.

- Assess the effectiveness of existing risk controls and recommend enhancements where opportunities for improved risk management are identified.
