Hilton Head Hospital (HHH) is a 93-bed acute care hospital located at 25 Hospital Center Boulevard in Hilton Head Island, SC. Opened in 1974, HHH serves Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Okatie and surrounding counties through its care team of over 600 colleagues and over 100 physicians. The hospital provides a continuum of services through its centers and programs, including a 24-hour emergency department, critical care, cardiac care ranging from minimally invasive to open heart surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, urology, a nationally accredited breast health center, spine care, gastroenterology, surgical services, cardiac and physical rehabilitation, and a 12-bed geriatric psychiatric inpatient unit. MARKET SAFETY OFFICER FULL TIME DAYS POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage Hilton Head Regional Healthcare Environment of Care programs including survey readiness related to Safety and Security Management, Hazardous Materials and Waste Management, Life Safety and Emergency Management programs.

• Serves as building safety officer for Hilton Head Hospital & Coastal Carolina Hospital.
• Create and implement environment of care management plans, based on regulatory standards and interpretation.
• Maintain documentation for compliance of Environment of Care assigned plans.
• Conduct hazard rounds and manage corrective actions.
• Responsible for oversight of security contractor and coordinate with Novant Health Corporate Security Department.
• Manage security systems including access control and security camera systems.
• Manages Emergency Management Program in coordination with Patient Safety Officer.
• Conducts education programs related to Environment of Care programs.
• Manage emergency drills such as fire, emergency management and security.
• In absence of Director Facilities Management acts in their stead
• Will service as an A-Team member for emergency evacuations

Completes other duties when assigned.
Market Safety Officer Full Time Days Position Requirements:Education:
High school diploma preferred; Completion of technical program preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of ten years’ experience healthcare environment of care, facilities management, emergency management or related discipline.

CERTIFICATIONS WHICH MAY BE USED IN PLACE OF EXPERIENCE:

• Certified Healthcare Safety Professional
• Certified Hospital Emergency Professional
• Certified Life Safety Specialist
• Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager
