Job Details Job Location: Rec Center - Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 Position Type: Seasonal Salary Range: $23.53 - $35.30 Hourly Job Shift: Day GENERAL PURPOSE: The Marketing & Administrative Assistant supports the Parks & Recreation Department by assisting with marketing and communication efforts while also providing essential administrative support. This role helps maintain organized internal processes, supports coordination with commissions and community partners, and contributes to effective and creative communication with the public. Wheat Ridge was founded during the 1859 Gold Rush as a rest stop for miners and later named for its golden wheat fields. As unsuccessful miners turned to farming, the area thrived with orchards, vegetable fields, and later, greenhouses, earning the title “Carnation City.” Incorporated in 1969, Wheat Ridge now offers a central location with easy access to Denver and the Rocky Mountains. It operates as a home-rule city with a council-manager government, where the elected council sets policy, and the manager oversees daily operations and budgeting. RESPONSIBILITIES: Marketing Assist in social media content creation and scheduling. Aid in taking photos and videos of programs & events happening in the City and Parks and Recreation Department. Assist the marketing team in updating Recreation Center visual displays. Support in managing inventory and organizing promotional giveaways. Assisting in the management of in-facility and parks print marketing. Support the marketing team in document remediation for ADA compliance. Assisting in the creation of signage to communicate facility and trail/park closures, impacts and modified hours. Other duties as assigned. Administration Assist with P-Card reconciliation. Aid with Incident Report filing and tracking. Act as the liaison to the Wheat Ridge Community Foundation and assisting with deposits. Assist with ordering, inventorying, and organizing office supplies. Assist with preparing agendas, minutes, and meeting packets for the Cultural Commission and Parks & Recreation Commission. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of computer software utilized by the Marketing Team including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and social media platforms. Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills and proficient in creative writing and content creation. High attention to detail is required. Intermediate to Advanced comfort level using Microsoft Suite. Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Express ideas clearly and concisely and establish and maintain effective working relationships. High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience with social media content creation preferred. Previous experience working in Canva preferred. HOURS OF WORK, LOCATION, AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a part time position that will work up to 20 hours a week, possible working days and hours are M-F, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Occasional nights and weekends as needed. Work is performed in a standard office environment. Job entails typing, word processing and/or data processing requiring repetitive motion and sitting. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Work may require minor muscular exertion and/or physical strain; requires continuous mental and/or visual demand where the flow of work is repetitive, or duties are diverse and/or hazardous and require continuous alertness and/or activity. Standard office equipment is used including a computer and associated software, copier, calculator, fax machine, recording and transcribing equipment.
