PURPOSE
The Unit Manager Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and
implementing marketing and communications strategies with the aim of increasing civic
participation, improving the Council’s identity, brand and presence in the community and
strengthening two-way communication with internal partners and external stakeholders.
This is a specialist marketing role, and a key deliverable of the role will be to lead long term
marketing to elevate the City of Marion’s brand to the forefront of Local Government.

o Promote and maintain a child safe environment and take relevant actions in
accordance with council’s Safe Environments for Children and Vulnerable
Persons Policy and with legislative requirements under the Children and Young
People (Safety) Act 2017 and the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016.
o Satisfactorily complete a DHS Working with Children Check (to be renewed
every five years) and be willing to undertake Child Safe Training.
