SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Sr Vice President, Sales, Ops, & Marketing, the Marketing Manager will assist with all aspects of the Marketing Department, including but not limited to: advertising, graphic design, social media, digital media, retail marketing, website management, analytics, collateral material development, and database management. The Marketing Manager also provides support for special events, donor relations, newsletter development, and internal and external communications. EXEMPLARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: The Marketing Manager provides direct support and implements projects assigned by the Sr Vice President, Sales, Ops, & Marketing. The position manages Goodwill SOLAC’s print and digital advertising program; designs ads as well as designs retail marketing and collateral materials; manages and promotes Goodwill SOLAC’s social media presence; regularly updates the ThinkGood.org website; gathers and shares digital analytics; manages and archives marketing databases; and coordinates community outreach mailings. The Marketing Manager also provides support for special events, processing donations and disseminating donor thank you letters, newsletter development, and internal and external communications. Other duties include administrative support for all activities of the marketing department. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercise judgment and initiative, have a strong work ethic, manage multiple projects, and work within tight deadlines. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience providing the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: * Successful completion of a four (4) year college degree (BA) in journalism, communications or related discipline of study. * Two (2) years’ office experience, managing projects; experience in a nonprofit setting is strongly preferred. KNOWLEDGE & SKILL: * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software programs; Excellent communications skills * Experience with public relations, community outreach, administration and database management. * Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills * Experience in social media LICENSES: It is required that the Marketing Associate possess a valid California motor vehicle operator’s license, current liability insurance coverage and be willing to use his/her personal vehicle in the course of employment.
