Description

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Date of Posting: July 28, 2025 Date of Removal: August 11, 2025
Position: Marketing & Communications Manager Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent No. of Positions: 1
Purpose & Scope:
Are you a proactive storyteller with a passion for fresh ideas and even fresher vegetables? Peak of the Market is looking for a dynamic Marketing & Communications Manager to lead our brand voice across Canada and beyond. This role is for a self-starter, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, rolls up their sleeves alongside our growers, and isn’t afraid to get a little dirt on their boots to tell the real stories behind our produce.
You’ll be the driving force behind our content strategy—managing social media, keeping our website fresh and engaging, supporting our beloved mascot Rosie, and creating compelling marketing tools that help our sales team succeed. If you’re equal parts creative strategist, content creator, and brand champion—and you’re ready to travel, collaborate, and grow—this is your opportunity to help fill half the plate with vegetables.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with our VP of Research, Quality & Sustainability and Director of Sales, the Marketing & Communications Manager is the creative force behind all things brand at Peak of the Market Ltd.—including our fan-favorite mascot, Rosie the Red Potato. From shaping traditional campaigns to driving digital content and managing our social media presence, you’ll bring our story to life across every platform.
You’ll also help bring our internal and external events and communications to the next level—whether it’s planning a Grower visit, presence at Produce Shows, coordinating our Annual Meeting, or supporting Rosie on the road. This role calls for someone with strong project management skills, a sharp creative eye, and the agility to adapt to the changing needs of our fast-moving industry.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • 2–3 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a strong portfolio of content that drives engagement and tells a clear, compelling story.
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Skilled storyteller with the ability to adapt messaging across platforms—digital, social, and traditional—to inspire action and build connection.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a sharp eye for tone, voice, and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in creative tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and WordPress, along with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Creative and resourceful thinker who can generate fresh ideas and bring them to life with high-quality visuals and messaging.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, able to balance multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator with the confidence to engage a wide range of audiences, from Growers and industry partners to customers and internal teams.
  • Experience in B2B marketing or agriculture/food industry marketing is considered an asset.
  • Willing to get hands-on in the field, with the ability to travel locally and throughout North America for Grower engagement, content creation, and event participation.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport required.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and manage compelling marketing content—including digital assets, videos, blogs, website copy, and social media posts—ensuring alignment with Peak of the Market Ltd.’s brand voice and values.
  • Develop engaging marketing materials to support campaigns, events, and promotions, maintaining consistency with brand standards across all platforms.
  • Support media and public relations efforts, including writing press releases, managing outreach, and coordinating responses to media inquiries.
  • Plan, promote, and support events, including Grower visits, trade shows, Rosie the Red Potato appearances, and Peak-hosted functions.
  • Represent Peak of the Market Ltd. at community, industry, and customer-facing events—acting as a brand ambassador and storyteller.
  • Collaborate with vendors and customers to design product packaging that enhances visibility and drives consumer interest.
  • Manage marketing and communications budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources across campaigns and initiatives.
  • Analyze marketing trends and performance data to identify insights and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, Growers, industry partners, media, and government stakeholders to strengthen brand visibility and collaboration.
  • Monitor and report on media and social media activity, providing insights to inform strategy.
