MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Working alongside the Admissions Department to deliver the full range of marketing activity at Gatehouse School to enhance communication and to maximise the number of enquiries and prospective family visits, leading to increased pupil numbers. Developing and delivering the marketing strategy and building a powerful brand and crafting a compelling narrative for the school.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· Proven experience in content creation, digital marketing, or a similar role with a track record of managing successful campaigns from design to completion.
· An understanding of education and schools is helpful but not critical.
· Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
· Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and graphic design software.
· Proficient knowledge and experience in photography and videography, including editing.
· Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work in a team environment.
· Ability to quickly establish good working relationships.
· Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work, handle pressure and meet deadlines.

· To work in consultation with the Headteacher, create a marketing and digital communication strategy to promote and develop the school brand.
· To ensure all communications, both internal and external are recognisable, consistent and reflect the school brand.
· To develop and produce a variety of engaging content for GHS social media, blog posts, newsletters, videos and promotional materials.
· Manage and grow the school’s social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.
· Develop and update the school website with fresh content ensuring it is visually appealing and user-friendly with and effective and well tracked user journey.
· Monitor and analyse content performance using tools like Google Analytics to optimise future content. Access and utilise data on key metrics and trends related to independent schools, parents and prospective parents.
· Work closely with school departments to gather information and create content that supports the school’s goals.
· Develop and manage a clear, coherent and live content calendar to ensure timely and consistent delivery of content across key dates in the academic year.
· Review what our competitors are doing in the digital advertising landscape and ensure we are competing effectively.
· Identify PR opportunities and actively promote the school within the local and wider community.
· In consultation with the Headteacher, manage communications with parents, prospective parents and the wider community through a range of mediums including newsletters, the school website and a range of social media platforms.
· Assist with the planning and promotion of all pupil recruitment and open events throughout the year.
· Manage production of all marketing materials and communications, including digital, print, advertising, imagery, video and publications, ensuring that these are of the highest standard and represent the brand values of the school.
· Attend recruitment events, school events, trips and activities to capture photos, videos and stories for promotional use.
· Assist the administration team as and when required.
