We’re looking for an experienced Marketing and Event Specialist for a short term contract (September-October) to support our communications, events, and social media efforts. This is a fully remote position within Canada.
You’ll be responsible for taking the lead on planning and executing events, managing communication logistics, and overseeing social media strategies with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: You have 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, with a proven track record of planning successful events.
Skills: You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a keen attention to detail.
Tools: You’re proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and similar design tools. Experience with social media scheduling tools like Hootsuite or Buffer is a plus.
Independence: You’re a self-starter who can work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.

Event Planning & Execution: Lead the planning and coordination of virtual or in-person events, managing everything from vendor logistics and venue booking to budgets and on-site execution.
Communications & Content: Draft, edit, and proofread various materials, including newsletters and event invitations, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all channels.
Social Media Management: Review and proofread social media content, and track performance metrics to optimize engagement.
Logistics & Coordination: Manage project timelines, maintain organized records, and support other communications tasks as needed.
