You will help plan, create, and deliver impactful marketing content across multiple content channels supporting Royal City Nursery 60+ year brand in digital and traditional ways and assist with planning, running and analyzing events! Our marketing team is on their feet for long periods of time, in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all Royal City Nursery customers in person and electronically.
  • Engage with and excite staff about current content on online platforms
  • Create appropriate and meaningful social posts on a variety of online platforms
  • Interpret and communicate social media data and results as it relates to Royal City Nursery activities, promotions and workshops
  • Liaise with staff as necessary to drive sales, executing internal and external marketing campaigns and workshops / events
  • Contribute to successful visual marketing and event campaigns, adhering to company brands and standards while incorporating our products and services.
  • Assist in the curation of e-newsletters to subscriber lists
  • Assist with Digital Asset Management including (but not limited to) website, and social platforms.
  • Assist with Workshop and Event Management in store.

Experience:

  • Post secondary degree diploma in Marketing or Communications (or related field)
  • Solid understanding of traditional and digital marketing tactics including, but not limited to: on-site events, sales tactics, social media, websites and Mailchimp
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Proficient with digital graphic design tools, project management software, MS Office Suite and/or Google equivalents.
  • Proficient with building and increasing brand and business profiles on social media. Mandatory platforms include: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a sense of enthusiasm, professionalism and urgency
  • Ability and willingness to learn each aspect of the business
  • Horticulture knowledge, and previous experience in a garden centre setting is a strong asset

Skills

  • Exceptional customer service, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills while handling multiple projects
  • Fluent in graphic design, photography and/or videography
  • Ability to follow and recognize the changing markets/trends as it pertains to Royal City Nursery product lines
  • Ability to be adaptive, creative, innovative, highly motivated and self starting
  • Advanced written and verbal English communication skills with strong research skills to gather market insights and consumer trends

PHYSICAL AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to stand, walk, kneel, for extended periods on a variety of surfaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently, perform repeated movements, kneeling, crouching etc.
  • Ability to comfortably work on a ladder or step stool.
  • Comfortable working in greenhouses, and other seasonal environments.
  • Please note: Must be able to work some evening and weekend shifts on a weekly basis
