Description

About the role

Cartland Law is a specialist tax, trust and technology law firm looking for a Marketing Assistant to help manage and amplify the firm's extensive content output. The role focuses on identifying interesting material already being produced across the firm - articles, presentations, training sessions, videos and conversations - and communicating it effectively to relevant audiences. This is not a role for producing generic marketing content to a calendar, but rather for recognising what is genuinely interesting and finding the best way to share it.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the firm's LinkedIn and other social media accounts;
  • Find and identify material from across the firm that is worth publishing;
  • Turn longer articles, presentations, training and videos into shorter pieces of content;
  • Maintain the website and publish new material in WordPress;
  • Help prepare newsletters through Mailchimp;
  • Prepare and coordinate graphics, images and other digital material;
  • Keep track of what has been published and what should be published next;
  • Review what people actually read and engage with;
  • Come up with better ways to communicate what the firm does.

About you

  • Able to write well
  • Good judgement about what is interesting and what is not.
  • Care about detail - names, links, dates and propositions must be accurate.
  • Curious and interested in learning about technical material.
  • Experience with LinkedIn, WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva or similar tools would be useful.
  • Experience in marketing, publishing, social media, journalism, communications, video or content creation would be useful.

About us

Cartland Law is a specialist tax, trust and technology law firm in Adelaide. We like difficult technical problems. We write and publish extensively, conduct regular advanced tax training, and are interested in technology and finding better ways of practising law. A lot of our marketing comes from the work itself. We would rather publish something genuinely useful or interesting than something that merely tells people that we exist. We are professional, but we are not particularly conventional. We are interested in ideas. We like people who are curious, who have opinions, who notice things, and who are prepared to suggest a better way of doing something.

Applying

Don't send us a long cover letter telling us that you are passionate about marketing.

Send us your CV and show us something you have done.

It might be something you wrote, a social media account you managed, a video you made, a website you worked on, a campaign, an article, or something completely different.

Tell us what you did and why you think it was good.

If this sounds like the sort of work you would enjoy, we would like to hear from you.
