Title: Marketing Assistant (Summer Internship)
Reports to: Senior Manager, Marketing and Brand
Type: Full-Time, Permanent

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and collaborative Marketing Assistant to join our Strategy, Marketing & Communications team on a contract basis. This role will play a key part in supporting a review and enhancement of the Gutsy Walk website, as well as helping to deliver compelling digital content across our channels. It’s a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while building your experience in digital marketing and nonprofit communications.
This is a part-time 28 hours/week contract for 6 weeks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Some education/experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong interest in digital marketing, graphic design, and content development.
  • Basic design and editing skills; familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (especially Premiere Pro or Rush), or CapCut is an asset.
  • Comfortable reviewing websites for content clarity, user experience, and visual presentation.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for health causes or lived experience with Crohn’s or colitis is a plus.
  • French language proficiency a strong asset.
  • Successful completion of a criminal and credit background check.

Responsibilities

Website Audit & Feedback Collection

  • Assist with the audit of gutsywalk.ca, identifying content, usability, and design improvement opportunities.
  • Help collect, organize, and analyze internal and external feedback related to the Gutsy Walk website.
  • Support the creation of a recommendations summary to inform future web updates and enhancements.

Content Creation & Digital Support

  • Assist in the creation of engaging social media graphics, infographics, and short-form video clips for various digital platforms (social and web-based).
  • Support the editing and repurposing of video content for digital and social platforms.
  • Contribute to drafting copy elements for design aligned with the brand voice.
  • Help maintain an organized asset library of creative content.

Team Collaboration & Admin Support

  • Work closely with the Strategy, Marketing & Communications team to coordinate timelines and deliverables.
  • Assist with administrative and coordination tasks as needed for campaigns and digital projects.
  • Participate in team meetings, offering creative input and feedback and capturing meeting notes.
