With a collaborative studio culture and a growing portfolio of national and international projects, we’re seeking a talented and driven Marketing and Bid Team Manager to lead our creative marketing strategies and oversee the bid process to support practice growth, based at our Head Office in the Midlands.
Location: Head Office, Kettering
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
Hours: 38.75 per week, Monday to Friday, flexibility with start and finish times.

GSSArchitecture is a national practice and one of the longest established architectural firms in the country. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, collaborative, well-organised and committed Marketing and Bid Team Manager to join our team and assist in supporting our continued growth across the UK.
With a team of over 70 people, we provide a highly responsive service to our clients and can demonstrate experience in almost every sector including industrial and commercial, education, residential and healthcare.
The Marketing and Bid Team Manager plays a key role in aligning our brand, business development, and communications across all parts of our business. You will lead a small, high-performing team to produce well-structured, professional bids; manage contact databases and tender portals, develop strategic marketing campaigns, and produce engaging content that communicates the values and behaviours of our practice and reinforces our position in the marketplace.
The team and practice have been accredited to an Investors in People (IIP) Gold standard, rated as the second-highest scoring architecture practice on the IIP international database. We pride ourselves on our commitment to Sustainability and Health and Wellbeing, both in design and creating a healthy environment within which to work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BSc Hons, HNC or Equivalent qualification in Marketing or Bid Management
  • Proven experience of bid management/production
  • Knowledge of the construction industry/architectural sector
  • Experience of working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Must possess an eye for detail, design and consistency
  • Full UK Drivers Licence and access to own transport

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coordinate, and oversee all Marketing and Bid Team activities
  • Implement and manage the marketing budget, including monthly reports
  • Oversee and coordinate the production and updating of practice brochures, including the GSS Annual
  • To arrange and organise practice functions and events
  • Make regular visits to GSS regional offices and to engage with all GSS team members
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns and service improvements that could lead to an increase in project opportunities
  • Directly contribute to the preparation and submission of bids, including where relevant, producing draft responses to quality questions based on previous bid submission information
  • Work alongside the Senior Partner in producing and updating the practice 5-year business plan and marketing strategy
  • Oversee and manage the GSS Branding Guidelines
  • Manage and maintain the practice website
  • Act as a mentor to peers and colleagues, nurturing their skills and talents
  • Produce and present monthly reports to the Partners
  • A willingness to attend construction related events (national and regional) to advertise and promote GSS in a business development capacity, would be beneficial
